Located
in the heart of Beijing, the Forbidden City, open to all
tourists, is known as Gu Gong in China as the former imperial
palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Forbidden City,
now popular as the Palace Museum, is located north of
Tiananmen Square. The rectangular Forbidden City is the
biggest palace in the world, covering 74 hectares of land.
Surrounded by a wall of 10m high and 6m deep ditch, the
Forbidden City is composed of 9999 buildings. The wall
in the Forbidden City includes a door on each of its parts,
the door Might Devine, which is located opposite the gate
of Tiananmen Square, opposite the Jingshan Park. The distance
between the door and Devine Might Tiananmen Gate is 960
m. closely designed towers are present on all four corners
of the wall in the offer remarkable views of the palace
and its surroundings. The outer courtyard or the southern
part and the inner courtyard or the north, are two parts
of the Forbidden City. The outer courtyard was used by
the emperor for carrying out his royal duties and the
